Having problems and your trying to install Microsoft Security Essentials and it just won’t install? I have ran into this issue and this is how I repaired it.

1. First, you need to download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
2. Run the utility and select Microsoft Antimalware
3. Click Remove
4. Click Ok then restart the computer
5. Attempt Security Essentials install.

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type in:  cmd.exe
4. Press Enter
5. Type: sfc /scannow

Wait for scan to complete, you may need your Windows CD/DVD for this if it needs to copy data from it.

If the above did not work, try the following below:

1.  Open Notepad (Start, Programs, Accessories, Notepad)
2. Select the text below and right click it and choose Copy.

Click File and Save As 3. Save as: registry.reg 4. Save it as missing.reg 5. Run: missing.reg

If the above did not work, try the following below:

Another issue is due to some Wavemapper windows registry files. You need to open Registry Editor.

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type: regedit
4. Press Enter
5. Navigate to:  HKEY\LOCAL\MACHINE\SOFTWAR\EMicrosof\tWindows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
6. Click on My Computer and on the right hand side click New/String Value and type: wavemapper then press Enter and type: msacm32.drv
7. Click Ok and restart machine.

1. Turn the iPod off
2. Start iTunes
3. Plug the iPod USB cable into the computer
4. Press and hold the Home button down on the iPod forcing the iPod to turn on.
5. The iPod will then boot into Recovery Mode and iTunes will prompt with a dialog “iTunes has discovered an iPod in Recovery Mode, would you like to restore?”
6. Click Yes
7. Wait for the restore to finish then the iPod will restart and load a freshly updated iOS

Windows XP to format USB Flash drives as NTFS

1. Right click My Computer

2. Click Properties

3. Click Hardware

4. Click Device Manager

5. Click Disk Drives and right click your USB device.

6. Click Properties

7. Click Policies

8. Click Optimize for performance.

9. Click Apply

10. Restart Computer

How to install a Wifi Max Wifi dongle in Windows Vista

1. Download the latest drivers
2. Run the file and go through the install.
3. Once installation has completed plug the Wi-Fi dongle into a USB port

If you have already plugged the WifiMax dongle in before running the driver software then the WifiMax dongle will have been installed using Vistas default wireless driver. To repair this, follow the instructions below:

1. Right click Computer
2. Select Properties
3. Click the Hardware Tab
4. Select Device Manager
5. In the list, select Network Adaptors and you should see an Atheros device.
6. Right click the Atheros device and select Properties
7. Click Driver and select Uninstall (make sure Delete the driver software for this device is checked).
8. Now go down to Other Devices (still in Device Manager)
9. Right click the USB 2.0 WLA device
10. Select Update Driver and choose Browse My Computer For Driver
11. Browse to the path that the drivers from the previous step were installed on, usually: C:\Program Files\ZyDAS

It should then find the correct driver and install it.
