Sony Tablet S Not Starting Reset

Having problems where your Sony S Tablet is getting power from the adapter but actually not turning on? I had this issue and this is how I got it running again.

  1. On the side panel of your Tablet you will see small letters, stating Reset.
  2. Get a Pin or Paper Clip and put it in the small hole next to the Reset word.
  3. Hold for 10 seconds
  4. Your Tablet should now restart on its own.

Note: Pressing the Reset button will not set the tablet back to Factory settings, but pressing the Reset button and turning your Tablet off will reset it back to Factory settings.

Missing Facebook ticker

Missing the Facebook Ticker?

The ticker gets activated once you have reached a certain amount of friends on your Facebook profile who are active. The fix is simply, invite more friends! General count is about 100 Friends.

NTLDR Windows XP

To repair this issue you need to have a Windows XP CD.

  1. First you need to boot from the Windows CD
  2. Once at the first “welcome” screen, press R to enter the Recovery Console
  3. Press the number of the Windows install you would like to repair (ie 1)
  4. Type in your Administrator password if there is one, if not press Enter.
  5. Now we need to copy two files from the Windows CD to your Windows install folders, type in the commands below:
  6. copy d:I386ntldr C: (Press Enter)
  7. copy d:I386ntdetect.com C: (Press Enter)
  8. Type: exit

Your computer will now restart, remove the Windows CD and you should now have a bootable Windows installation.

Remove Sidebar ads on Handycafe Client

In order to remove the Ads on the sidebar, we need to block them using an inbuilt list called the HOST file.

 

  1. Go to a machine with Handycafe installed
  2. Click on My Computer/Computer
  3. Goto: C:WindowsSystem32drivers
  4. Find the “hosts” file
  5. Right click the host file and left click Properties
  6. Uncheck Use Read Only and left click Apply
  7. Right click the hosts file and left click Open With
  8. Select Notepad
  9. Ignoring everything listed in the file, go to the bottom of the file and enter in the following:
  10. 127.0.0.1 ad.handycafe.com
  11. 127.0.0.1 search.handycafe.com
  12. Click File
  13. Click Save
  14. Restart the machine and the Ads should now vanish, do the same procedure on all your Café machines.

Note: Using a local firewall on the machine you could also block the Domains as another method of blocking them.
