Using Clonezilla – Clone to Image

  1. Download Clonezilla
  2. Burn to CD
  3. Boot from CD
  4. Select Clonezilla VGA mode (top option)
  5. Wait for Clonezilla to extract the files from the CD into the computers RAM
  6. Select your language ie English
  7. If using a different keyboard, choose Select Keymap from Arch List, otherwise leave Don’t touch key map as default, press Enter
  8. Select Start Clonezilla If you are cloning directly onto another drive choose device-device in this case we are cloning to an image so select device-image
  9. This is where you specify where the device will save to select: local_dev
  10. Insert the USB device when prompted, press Enter
  11. Select the device to mount
  12. Select the directory; I just leave it as top level
  13. Leave beginner
  14. Select SaveDisk (Save local disk as an image)
  15. Type in the name of the image, it is safe to leave it the default time/date
  16. Select the disk or drive you would like to clone, press Enter
  17. Select Skip Checking, unless you have reason to believe the drive might be failing.
  18. To avoid mistakes restoring images make sure you select Yes, Check the Save image (this will take a bit of extra time but worth it in case of problems restoring)
  19. Press Enter to continue
  20. It will then do a last scan of the hardware and ask you for confirmation (make sure that the drives you are trying to clone are the right one, this is your last chance) press Y and enter to continue

 

How to repair Minda Home/Professional

Basically you need to download the latest version of Minda from LIC (lic.co.nz) and in order to do this you need your PART (participant) code and your Minda PIN to login.

  1. Once you have logged in to the LIC website and greeted with "“"Welcome insertnamehere" click “Get MINDA Software” – on the left hand side.
  2. Then click the blue download button titled “Click here to download the latest version of MINDA”.
  3. It will then download minda.exe and all you need to do is run it, say Yes to any prompts and it will install/repair Minda and the Firebird server.

Setup commonly visited webpage Tab in Internet Explorer

  1. Click on Tools (small gear top right)
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. In the General Tab, click Tabbed
  4. Click Settings in the Tabbed area
  5. Go to the middle of the of the dialog to the “When a new tab is opened, open
  6. Change the drop-down box to select: “The new tab page
  7. Press Ok
  8. Press Ok

Now when you open a new Tab it will display your commonly visited webpages.

Trying to install Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista and getting “x800703F0” error? Follow the guides below to fix it.

Enable the Windows Module Installer Service

  1. Click on the Vista Orb (Start)
  2. In the search field type: services.msc > Press Enter
  3. A list of Windows Services will appear, scroll down the list and find Windows Module Installer
  4. Right click Service and select Properties
  5. Click on Start (also change the startup to Automatic)
  6. Click Ok
  7. Attempt SP1 setup again.

Set registry entries

_ _Click on the Vista Orb (Start)

  1. In the search field type: regsvr32 wintrust.dll > Press Enter
  2. In the search field type: regsvr32 rsaenh.dll  > Press Enter
  3. In the search field type: regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll > Press Enter
  4. In the search field type: regsvr32 softpub.dll> Press Enter
  5. Attempt SP1 setup again.

Google Apps – Share documents outside domain

  1. Login to your Google Apps admin
  2. Click on Manage This Domain
  3. Click Service Settings
  4. Click Documents (or Drive if you have Google Drive enabled on the domain)
  5. Check “Users can publish document to the public internet”
  6. Click Save

 

Note: If you are having issues with this not working, make sure that the when the document, ie a Powerpoint document is set to be shared with the public when adding it to your site article.

Note: It has also been reported by various sources that this was a bug and if you were running the free version you could activate a trial to the enterprise/paid version of Google Apps, check the box as above and then remove the trial. If you have the paid version, contact Google Support if you are having issues.
