Usually caused by a missing/damaged “mfc42.dll” file. You can repair this by doing the following.
- Download mfc42.dll (Remember don’t click any of the Ads, look for “Click Here to Download mfc42.dll”)
- Now go to the location of your newly downloaded file (Usually in Downloads) and right click the file & choose Copy.
- Open My Computer
- Go to C:\Windows\System32
- Right click and select Paste
- Choose Yes if you are asked to overwrite.
- Attempt Age of Empires 3 install again.
