This issue usually occurs on Dell machines and it mostly caused by the Windows Boot Loader becoming infected or corrupted.

1. Repair Boot Loader
2.  If the Windows XP machine doesn’t boot then you need to do a Windows Repair.

1. Click Start
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click Administrative Tools
4. Click **Services **
5. Look for the “IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service“
6. Right click on it and click properties.
7. Change Startup Type to Disabled.
8. Click **Apply **
9. Restart the PC to apply changes.

You will have to switch to another Burning application, such as Nero or CD Burner XP, and not rely on Windows XPs built in Burning function.

4. Click Windows Update
5. Click Change Settings
6. Click _“Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them” _
7. Click Ok

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type: ncpa.cpl and press Enter
4. Right click on the Wireless network connections icon
5. Left click Properties
6. Click the Wireless network tab
7. Click Properties
8. Click the Authentication tab
9. Uncheck Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network
10. Click Ok

If the above does not work, you will have to re-install your Wireless drivers, so head to the manufacturers website and download the latest Wireless drivers and re-install.
