This usually occurs Operator Assisted Dialing is enabled for the Dialup connection, to disable follow the instructions below:

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Network Connections
  3. Click your Dial-up connection and press the ALT key on your keyboard.
  4. Click Advanced (up the top)
  5. Untick Operator Assisted Dialing
